To get married in Slovenia you start off by submitting the necessary documents to the Marriage Registry Office of the Administrative Unit 1 - 6 months prior to the wedding date. You can empower your wedding planner to do so. You will require an interpreter at the marriage ceremony if you do not speak Slovene. All documents must be translated into Slovenian by an official translator. In terms of documentation, it depends where you come from, but in most cases you will need: full birth certificates (issued within the last 6 months and certified with an apostille stamp), the couple’s passports, photocopies of the passports and the single status certificates.
